The path starts about 200 metres after Drena Castle, between the first houses on the left before the bend leading to the upper part of Drena. Once you reach the starting point, climb up the nature trail towards the Padela area and continue straight on until you reach a fork in the road, where you continue keeping to the right. A few hundred metres further on, you reach the road and descend in the direction of Cros. At the fork, turn left and continue walking until you reach the main road. Here you continue to the left and at the next fork you take the small road alongside the Rio Gaggio and then turn right at the crossroads. After 150 metres you cross the forest and then turn right at the crossroads. Go straight on for about 300 metres and then turn left onto a dirt track that then becomes a little path through the woods and then crosses the forest road to reach the Val Acquarel. Continue until you cross the tarmac road and keep to the left there. Continue straight on, passing the hamlets of Leve, San Gicem and Banale. A little further on you will come to a fork in the road and take the small road to the right, after which you keep to the right and pass the hamlets of Valletti and Praal to reach ‘Drena bassa’ and in no time you will reach the starting point. 

Drena is connected by the intercity bus lines 204 (Riva del Garda – Cavedine – Trento) to the other places in Garda Trentino.

This excursion is quite simple and presents no particular difficulty. However, we still recommend you to wear suitable footwear, a hat, sun screen and sunglasses. And be sure to bring water!
